Fun and Easy Indoor Calorie Burners 4 Kids

Published by Jammy Sinclair on February 28, 2009

Gyms/Fitness Centers:

Check out your local YMCA, gym or fitness center for calorie-burning fun activities that they offer kids like gymnastics, indoor basketball, wrestling, kick boxing, martial arts, wall-climbing, track, badminton, volleyball, ping pong, swimming, racquetball and tennis. You could even get your own workout while waiting.

Dance Studios:

A great way to burn calories in a variety of classes including ballet, tap, modern, jazz, hip-hop, line dancing, ballroom dancing, yoga, free movement classes and other music/dance combination classes.

Indoor Rinks:

Ice-skating, roller-skating, inline-skating can fill hours of fun without even realizing you’ve workout.

Museums:

They exist in most cities, and provide interesting, educational and fun activities that keep your kid on the move! Indoor nature centers or aquariums offer similar movement opportunities.

Restaurants with Games:

They’re all over. Choose restaurants that offer the greatest energy burners, including laser tag and other fast-paced activities. Most have salad bars, so plan on light meals. Another great option is to create an ‘Activity/Play Room’ in your house, where you set up areas for your child to try different activities.

At Home:

· A plastic tub filled with costumes, dress-up clothes, and accessories like crowns, wands, toy shields, armor, masks, vests, belts, shoes, hats, grass skirts, scarves, play jewelry, wigs…

· Boom box with dance music tapes or CDs to have family dance parties

· Build a tent and have a living room camping trip.

· Hop scotch mat, action games like Twister, Charades, Simon Says, Follow the leader

· Paddle balls, indoor ball toss games, bean bags, juggling balls, hacky sack, indoor basketball hoop and soft foam balls

· Jump ropes, skip-it, small kid-safe hand weights, exercise stretch bands.

· Try household cleaning with items such as brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, feather dusters. You would be surprised how many kids love to clean!

· Do the “TV commercial boogie” whenever the ads come on. You’ll be amazed at how much moving you’ll do to the soundtracks of those endless commercials! And be sure to engage in collective booing when junk-food ads fill the screen.

Nike Air Force One, Nike Air Force 1, Nike Air Force One White Low

Published by Jammy Sinclair on February 28, 2009

1THOLOGY! __A complete guide to AIR FORCE ONES! An interactive site being launched by Nike on April 11th…a complete catalogue of 929 AF1’s and much more… Remember you can already view the documentaries and more on the site NOW. __If the experience in itself of reliving the yesteryears regarding the Air Force 1 wasn’t good enough, Nike has done a good job of making this a very interactive website. They have included such features as “1Print” which allows you to actually create your own poster and purchase it. As well you can continually “add shoes” to your personal ongoing collection. It’s essentially a way of bookmarking your favorite AF1’s for you to share! Got a story about how you scored your first triple double back in ‘82 in those White/Grey High’s? Met your future wife wearing Goldenrod Jewel Mid’s back in ‘99? There is an option to submit stories to Nike to share with all the other AF1 heads out there. Don’t worry I saved the best feature for last. The “Shoe of the Month” gives you the ability to vote for your favorite AF1 each month of 2007. At the end of the year the “Shoe of the Year” will get reissued!.

Designer _By approaching the development of the shoe in an equally practical as radical manner, Bruce Kilgore created a shoe design that proved for the first time that ‘functional’ could also mean ‘attractive, and even ‘fashionable’ in the positive sense of the word. With an eye for detail and the soul of a traditional cobbler, Kilgore made Air Force 1 along the lines of the principle: everything that’s not absolutely necessary for the shoe to ‘function’ is left out. When Kilgore sat down to develop the shoe that would dominate the world for the next 25 years and more, he generated his vision from the dreams of basketball players all around the world and crafted a reality that had never been seen before.

Air Force 1 Athletes _A particular legend are, of course, the 6 basketball players who presented the first Air Force 1 in 1982: Moses Malone, Michael Cooper, Jamaal Wilkes, Bobby Jones, Mychael Thompson and Calvin Natt. _Plus Charles Barkley, because no other player embodied the Force idea more than he did, who mercilessly fought for every chance and every ball to drive his opponents to desperation. His legitimate successors when he ended his career: David Robinson and Alonzo Mourning. _The youngest members in the Force family are: Jermaine O’Neal, Nate Robinson, Tony Parker, Amare Stoudmire, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Rasheed Wallace, Vince Carter. _With the last six following the legendary six for the Air Force 1 anniversary and ushering in the new Air Force 1 era with their own models.

Common Causes Of Chronic Joint Pain

Published by Jammy Sinclair on February 26, 2009

Chronic pain in the joints is a common problem for many people. In fact, it’s been estimated that at least one out of every three American adults suffers from some sort of chronic pain in their joints.

Joint pain is generally caused by an inflammation of some kind. Arthritis is possibly the most known about. There are a couple of different types of Arthritis though:

Rheumatoid arthritis is caused from something being wrong with the body’s immune system, which causes an inflammation in the joint lining. Osteoarthritis is often caused by working out or weight build too strenously or incorrectly. With Osteoarthritis, the cartilage covering the ends of your bones deteriorates, and pain is caused from one bone moving against another.

Other medical conditions which cause chronic join pain include Gout, Juvenile arthritis, Spinal arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Bursitis, and Tendonitis.

Since most joint pain problems are caused due to an inflammation of some kind, a common treatment for the pain is to take anti-infammatory and pain medications such as Motrin, Ibuprofin, or prescription COX 2 inhibitors and NSAIDS. An herbal anti-infammatory option is White Willow Bark. Keep in mind that these medications treat the symptoms however, not the actual cause of your chronic joint pain problems.

There are several ways you can help reduce the causes of your chronic joint pain however, and if addressed early enough, it might be preventable or eliminated completely.

First you’ll need to take a close look at your lifestyle choices. A very common cause of joint pain in the knees for instance, is due to obesity. Carrying a lot of extra body weight will put more strain on your joints and cause chronic pain. So losing even a little bit of weight can help to reduce the joint pain you experience.

If you’re on the opposite end of the spectrum and you work out hard and often, this too could be some of the cause for your join pain problems. Many bodybuilders and weight lifters for instance, don’t stretch or warm up properly before working out. And many of them don’t allow their body time to recuperate, repair and rebuild before their next workout.

Heavy impact style exercising can also cause severe strain on your joints. Step aerobics for instance, or kick boxing, has a jarring effect on your bones and joints which will cause pain. Simply changing to a lower impact style of exercise can help tremendously. Water based exercises are excellent low impact workouts, as is Yoga.

Another simple way to reduce chronic joint pain is to look at other parts of your life. If you’re a lady who always wears high heeled shoes, this can cause severe strain on your joints. If you sit at a desk all day and are not using ergonomic solutions for computer use, you’ll find yourself with one or more joints constantly hurting. Even sitting in the same position all day, or standing all day can cause chronic joint pain, and these issues can be relieved at least some by simply moving around and changing positions throughout the day.

Last but not least, you need to make sure you’re getting the proper amount of vitamins, minerals and supplements each day. Calcium is extremely important for strong bones, and strong bones will help your joints to be strong as well. Omega 3 fatty acids such as those gotten from fish or flax seeds can help your body address and conquer inflammation issues, and glucosamine helps improve joint flexibility, as well as helping to build strong joint cartilage.
