Can I wash a pair of nike shoes in my washing machine?

I have some pair of nike shoes that are white and I wear them quite often causing them to smell in the inside. The outside I wash with a wash cloth and so they are clean its just the inside that smells and bothers me. I have used air freshener stuff for the inside of my shoes but then that smell with the already stinky smell gives off another bad smell so can I wash them in my washing machine?

Yes , I too have washed tennis shoes in the machine. But the bad smell is your problem. What you need to do is buy some Dettol at the pharmacy. Pour some in each shoe and scrub with a old tooth brush on the inside. Then run it in the washing machine. Also wash your socks with the dettol too. When you work out and sweat, there is urine and oils in your sweat. These oils go rancid and need to be removed. The bacteria is causing the smell and it is growing like crazy in those shoes. So wash them well with the dettol Med. Dry well and disinfect your socks too.

    i have washed my tennies many times in the washer,set it for delicate with normal amount of soap and a touch of bleach,,,if its hot out i sit them in the sun if cool out i put them in the dryer with a blanket or wk clothes

    Don’t worry about washing the outside with a cloth, you can wash them in the washer for whatever part of them are dirty. There should be a tag on one of the shoes, it’s usually on the tongue, but sometimes its on the inside of the heel. Look there for the washing instructions. If there are none try this link.     You could, but they wouldn’t get that clean. They’ll just bounce around in soapy water. They won’t get scrubbed.
